Bibliopolis provides complete e-commerce website development, technical support and hosting as well as database services for the used, out-of-print and/or antiquarian bookseller. All of our sites are built with your entire Internet presence in mind. We work hard to generate new customers from search engines such as Google and we help you to build repeat business with tools such as weekly e-mail updates informing customers of new inventory in their categories of interest.

Open Source Technology

The acronym LAMP refers to a group of open-source software used to run dynamic Web sites and servers.

Our servers run on Linux and we use Apache and Interchange to serve our sites. Transactions are saved and backed up in a MySQL database which logs customer, inventory, sales, invoice and other tables of useful information to process the order.

Sensitive transactions are SSL- encrypted and credit card information is directly emailed to you (PGP- encrypted) to process using current means.

Database Services

We offer complete data conversion and customization. We know that switching critical applications can be stressful. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and excellent customer service and support.

Bibliopolis is comprised of 3 principals with a combined book industry experience of over 25 years as well as over 20 years of professional technology consulting. Alan Green worked with William Stout Architectural Books before creating BookHound™. Luke Lozier was a buyer and manager at Green Apple Books in San Francisco before setting up their e-commerce website. Mat Jones has been our primary engineer since 2001 and has tailored many technologies to the needs of booksellers. We are available to consult with you on any facet of your business.
